There is a fight for life, a fight for everything! Let’s save Lukas!

It was a beautiful day in June, the last day of our family vacation in Cracow, our favorite city (Lukas’, Gosia's – me, and our 12-year-old son’s Franek). We were packed, and ready to go back home. Lukasz went to get a car that was parked nearby. He never got there, though…

Suddenly, a phone called. When I picked it up, some strange voice said that my husband had had a seizure, and they are driving him to the hospital. It was a rescuer. It turned out, that four people had seen Lukas lying on the street and had called the ambulance… 

I felt like time stopped… A seizure? My husband never got sick… It must have been a mistake! And then, everything went so fast… Hospital, examinations, X-ray, and finally, a diagnosis. A brain tumor, probably meningioma, requiring immediate consultation with a neurosurgeon, and surgery. 

The surgery which was performed in Lublin, was successful. The doctors managed to remove the tumor entirely. Lukas felt great, he was in a good shape. We thought everything would be fine…

We could not be more wrong. Our nightmare was just about to begin… We received another diagnosis, which seemed like a sentence—glioblastoma, a highly malignant grade IV brain tumor! Unfortunately, the health system in Poland cannot provide a proper treatment for that type of cancer, besides chemotherapy and radiation therapy, that are strenuous for the body and mostly ineffective. It is widely discussed in the medical environment!…

We spent multiple hours searching of any information, clinical research, specialists, articles, and interviews on glioblastoma. We looked for the solution to save Lukas, and to prevent our family from tearing apart… We could not let the disease take away a father, husband, son, and friend. Not now…

After having received many refusals to conduct a treatment for Lukas, an opportunity finally presented itself! 

Lukas was qualified for an immunotherapy in the clinic in Germany, which is a method supporting a standard treatment of cancer. 

We found out, that immunotherapy activates and boosts the immune system, that detects and destroys abnormal cells. In expert opinion, oncology gained a new tool to fight cancer. 

That innovative method gives hope, but it’s also very expensive and non-refundable for the Polish patients. 

We are asking you for support. We cannot afford the cost of treatment… We must act fast. Glioma is a highly dangerous enemy, and time is its ally. Lukas wants to survive, and we need to make it happen! We must give him that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity abroad, since it is unavailable in our country.
