I try to recall our life before the disease. I try to recall what I was thinking about, what I was dreaming about. I try to remember what it is like not to be afraid ... and I simply cannot. Today, I only feel fear! Leukemia is trying to take my husband away and I cannot save him!
In March this year, we found out that Maciej's body had been attacked by acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Everything changed since then. Few days later full diagnosis revealed that it is Philadelphia chromosome positive ALL, where treatment is much more complicated and usually requires bone marrow transplant.
Moments of helplessness are intertwined with warming hope, but fear does not leave us even for a short while. We had plans and dreams, but today, we have to focus on fighting for each new day!
In mid- August, a bone marrow transplant is to take place, but in order to have a chance to be successful, Maciej needs treatment based on the use of a unique medication, the price of which is enormous... 45k PLN for one course of treatment (three courses required in total)
It is not the price for the medication only, but rather - for my husband's life! Please - help us!
