Maksymilian is a driver by profession and has loads of experience. During more than 20 years of his career, he drove through the whole Europe and United States of America, where he has been living for two years. He loved his job. When he was on the road, he felt alive. That is why the news that we have recently received came as a great shock to us!
On 26 February 2026, we received a phone call from a policeman. It turned out that Maks had a TRAGIC ACCIDENT in North Carolina! While he was on the road, he pulled over to check the condition of his car. When he got out, suddenly, another car hit him and left him pinned between two vehicles! We were terrified!
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition, where the doctors confirmed his multiple injuries. What is worse, it was necessary to amputate both his legs and the left hand was seriously damaged! We were shaking with anxiety while waiting for the information on Maks’ condition. Despite the extreme pain and suffering, he was conscious and aware of the events. We really wanted to be with him during this difficult time...
Maks is still fighting for his health and mobility in hospital. He is not going to give up! His will to live is strong and he has great determination! For this reason, the support of many specialists, continuation of treatment and further rehabilitation are vital now. Unfortunately, due to his condition, Maks cannot be transported to Poland. That is why we would like for at least one close relative to be with him there and support him during this difficult time.
Despite several thousand kilometers between us, we are trying to support him the best we can. Maks stays in touch with us and this way, he is not alone. He has a loving family – sisters and parents, as well as indispensable friends and colleagues. However, due to the enormous costs of medical care, we need additional help. That is why we have a great request! Each donation, even the smallest one, is an invaluable help!
