Let's save Marcin's life

The fight for Marcin’s life has been going on for 7 years. Sometimes I try to recall all those moments spent together that had happened before. All the troubles of those times now seem to be an innocent joke. Those problems don’t even deserve to be called that… Today I hold his hand and never want to let go.  I want to feel its warmth and the warm breath of my husband on my cheek. We will go through this together, we will always be there, so that he knows – whatever happens, we are always with him. 

Marcin is a great man, but first and foremost he is a great father of teenage son and two ten year old twin girls. 7 years ago he was diagnosed with a brain tumour - 3rd degree anaplastic glioma. I will never forget this day, sleepless nights and the sea of tears shed in fear.

A surgery was necessary, the tumour has been resected twice, followed with a severe radiation therapy in combination with chemotherapy and another one shortly after. The stay in the hospital seemed to be endless. Doctors would come with good news, just to spread their hand in a gesture of helplessness the next day. 

We have fought for a very long time for Marcin to return to work, to the normal life. And we achieved it. For six years nothing indicated that the disease would come back, up to October last year, when the control MRI showed what we had feared all this time - a relapse. It’s never a good news… we couldn’t believe it, we couldn’t believe that this extremely devastating fight would have to be resumed.

Another chemotherapy, which to a certain point gave some good results, however soon everything fell apart. The protocol was changed, the medicine was changed, once again unsuccessfully. The tumour is growing and our hopes are diminishing. Doctors offer palliative chemotherapy only, which means waiting for the worst. However, we could not agree on it and thanks to a large-scale search, we managed to find an unrefunded remedy that gave us the last hope.

Unfortunately, 3-month treatment costs at least 45 000 PLN and it is the most effective after half a year, which sums up to 90 000 PLN. In a matter of upcoming days we will receive exact calculations and the appropriate information will be added to this fundraiser. We cannot wait until then and  we are launching this fundraiser with an appeal for help now. This is our only chance to save Marcin…
