Darling, I know you can hear us! Please come back to us, we want it to be the way it was before…

We need to appreciate what we have… One day we share life with someone, and on the next day, they fight to survive! The accident changed Marek, me, and our family. What was the cause of that unfortunate event? Bad luck? A coincidence? Timing?...

We could have planned our future together and lived a normal life. However, the reality is different.  Today, we believe in Marek’s recovery thanks to those little signs, prayer, and love, that gives us strength to continue the fight for his life! 

Due to the accident, my husband suffered numerous injuries. He was hit by a car, on a hardly visible part of the road, where no one would have predicted an incident to happen… And yet, it did. Marek broke the bones of his face and skull, had numerous intracranial hemorrhages, and broke 3 vertebrae, 4 ribs, a hand, and a leg… He suffered from PTSD and lost consciousness. 

He was driven to the hospital, where he was put in a medically induced coma. When the doctors attempted to wake him up, he did not respond. 

I cannot wrap my head around it until now. I talk to him, I stroke his cheek, but he still hasn’t regained consciousness… 

Sometimes he reacts to some of my words, my touch, to the voice recordings of our grandchildren. I believe in these little signs that my husband gives me. It looks like he wants to come back to us! I know him too well… 

Unfortunately, he is still far away and unresponsive. We were about to transfer him to a rehabilitation center, where he could start physical therapy and wake up from a coma. 

However, due to a variety of equipment that keeps him alive, he developed an infection. First, we must wait for his health improvement before we can make any step forward.  

Marek’s recovery can be possible only thanks to intensive neurological therapy. Unfortunately, it is non-refundable, and we cannot afford the cost of a rehabilitation camp!

“He got lost somewhere between day and night, heaven and earth. He got lost… And now he doesn’t know how to return to his old self.” 

Marek had many dreams and plans, but they all had to be left behind after the accident.   Marek dreamed of sailing on a lake and even obtained a powerboat cruising license! He always achieved what we wanted. 

His grandchildren were always his priority. Even now, staying in a coma, he can react to their voices on a cell phone. 

We hope one day he will go for a walk with them, hug them, and tell them how much he loves them. 

When it comes to the love of your life, there’s no place for a doubt! I will keep on fighting! 

And I am begging for your support. The only thing that can stop us is the lack of funds for the treatment. Every day I pray that it did not happen…
