Fundraiser description
He survived by a miracle, so the doctors say and we ... 4 times he tried to leave us, 4 times the paramedics resuscitated him so that this would not happen. Mateusz couldn't just leave us suddenly. He is young, he is strong, there is much to do ...
Every day smiling, full of energy, always helpful, liked at school by students and teachers, he has plans and dreams. As a result of the accident that happened on August 30 at night, time has stopped for us. The last words that I heard before the accident "Mommy, I'm coming home ...", he wanted to do a good deed and give his friends a lift.
Mateusz lost control of the steering wheel and hit the energy-consuming barrier. The son was transported to the LPR in a very serious condition to Krakow and immediately operated on. The life-saving operation lasted over 6 hours. He came with little chance of survival, doctors say that another moment without help and there would be no rescue ... He was hemodynamically unstable, unconscious.

Mateusz underwent 4 surgeries, during which they transfused him 6 units of blood and plasma. He suffered a series of injuries that threatened his life: completely damaged left biceps muscle, broken artery and torn veins, fracture with bone dislocation in the right hand, heart contusion, hematoma on the liver, kidney, lung contusion and broken ribs (including collarbone) they led to internal bilateral pneumothorax on the lungs, which meant that he had drainage on and a respirator was breathing for him so that he could live at all. Currently, his lungs are working hard, his spleen has ruptured due to tearing of the straps, a fracture of the femur, fibula, and tibia and three broken bones in the ankle joint. He spent many days in Intensive Care, lying in a coma, then in Neurosurgery and the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, where we could not even visit him, because there is a pandemic period.
Despite all the wounds and injuries, we want Mateusz to get back on his feet, and for this he needs a long physical and mental rehabilitation so that he has a chance to walk and function normally, because for now he is unable to do anything on his own, walk and he needs constant care. The costs of the daily rehabilitation of his arms and legs have overwhelmed us, but we want this rehabilitation to help him as quickly and effectively as possible. After Mateusz's treatment is over, a long and costly rehabilitation awaits due to the number of complicated fractures and other injuries.
