Fundraiser description
On July 28, 2024, our lives turned upside down. The next day, we were supposed to start organizing our wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, that night, something unexpected and tragic happened to my beloved fiance!
When I woke up, I saw him having seizures. I was so scared! I immediately ran to get help, and when I came back, he was already unconscious. Those few minutes of resuscitation were the longest minutes of my life. I had never been more terrified! Then the ambulance came and took him to the hospital's ICU, where he's been staying until today. The doctors still cannot find the reason for his sudden cardiac arrest, though.
The first couple of days were crucial - doctors were fighting for his life. Our families stood by his bed and prayed for a miracle. When Michał woke up, we were completely overjoyed! Although he was moving, he didn't make contact with us. Just as we were about to lose hope, he showed us how strong and determined he was to reunite with us!
He started reacting to pain and making sounds. Although the tracheostomy tube inserted in his throat makes it difficult to understand him, we are glad about his improvement! Michał constantly surprises us, but only intense physical therapy and support from numerous specialists can help him achieve a full recovery.
It can all be provided by the rehabilitation center, where a monthly stay costs over 30,000 zlotys! One month isn't enough, though. A battle for Michał's health and life will resemble a marathon, not a sprint.
Michał is only 26 years old! He's always been fit and loved playing basketball. Always smiling and friendly! That is why it's so hard to wrap our minds around what happened to him. Michał has his whole life in front of him and plans and dreams to realize!
The sooner the rehabilitation starts, the bigger the chances for Michał's recovery! Unfortunately, we cannot afford it - it is too expensive! We ask you from the bottom of our hearts for help! Every donation matters!
