Fundraiser result

Dzięki Waszej ogromnej pomocy Nicole mogła przejść częściowo zaplanowane leczenie ortodontyczne i stomatologiczne.

Fundraiser description

All we dream of is to see our daughter happy again, and that she could live her life to the full not to be embarrassed to smile. Nicole is just becoming a teenager –a time when self-esteem and confidence are so crucial. Unfortunately her ones are rather shaken. She experiences mocking and bullying on regular basis. Our hearts are braking because we are so helpless. We cannot change the past and erase the terrible accident. The only thing we can do is ask for help ...
It's been 6 years since Nicole had an accident, but no matter how hard we try to move on, every day when our daughter looks in the mirror she has no choice but to remember that tragic day.
It was the end of June- the holidays were just about to start. Our daughter and her mum were planning to go on a bike trip,
but they had no chance to even start ... Nicole was coming down a steep hill near our house. At some point she realized that she could not stop or turn her bike... That's how the tragedy which we had to live with since began...
Nicole fell off the bicycle and hit her face against a piece of protruding wall. An ambulance transported her to the hospital where the examination was carried out and 15 stitches were put on the dissected and cut lips. Even then, we did not realize that the consequences of the accident will be so catastrophic...and that after six years Nicole will still not be able to smile ... Our daughter broke the fixed upper ones and twos, which at the time of the accident additionally penetrated the upper gum into the alveolar bridge. It was a terrible pain, not only physical but also psychological. Every few days we had to go back to the
hospital because Nicole was receiving very strong painkillers.
Doctors delayed the start of professional treatment for far too long, the soft tissues were healing very slowly. We went from
one specialist to another to find someone who would really help our daughter. A lot of time was elapsed before the decision was made to set up the needed orthodontic appliance. Unfortunately, the state of the bone, which was heavily perforated, had not been examined before, therefore the critical days, weeks and months were wasted.
Only this year, eventually we arrived at a specialist clinic in Gniezno, where not only the superb professional research was carried, the right diagnosis was given, but most of all, the proper treatment began, giving Nicole hope for regaining her lost smile (on many levels). Since then we have gained incomparably more understanding and knowledge about Nicole’s condition and we are delighted to be under care of the wonderful- approaching patients with compassion- clinicians.
We know that all parents are biased when it comes to their children, but our daughter truly is a wonderful, sensitive and ambitious young girl. The aftermath of the accident-lost teeth therefore mocking and bullying, significantly limited her socialising, massively affected her self-confidence and pushed into the alienation from other peers. It is very painful for us to watch.
Her biggest dream is to smile freely with her mouth open and return to lost ‘normality’. Nicole’s life and appearance were tragically marked by the accident in her early childhood. Today, as she is slowly entering her teenage years, she desperately wants normality and acceptance–just like all of us do.
We believe there is a great strength in unity and we will treasure every even the smallest contribution that will allow us to continue the treatment of our daughter.
Please help, we truly believe that good deeds are never wasted but always rewarded!
