Campaign goal: Publishing the Polish translation of a unique book of remembrance and history
Campaign description
The Memorial Book of the Jews of Wołomin is a unique source of remembrance — written in Hebrew and Yiddish by survivors, descendants, and members of the Jewish community of Wołomin. It is not only a testimony to a tragic history, but also a tribute to the rich Jewish life that once thrived in our region before the Holocaust.
📖 The Book contains memories, photos, documents and texts, which will be available to Polish-speaking readers for the first time in the form of a professionally published edition. It is part of a larger and rare phenomenon — Yizkor Books — that preserve the legacy of the vanished Jewish communities of Eastern Europe.
What are we raising funds for?
— Editing and proofreading of the text
— Graphic design and layout
— Printing and distribution to libraries, schools, and cultural institutions
Why is this important?
The memory of Wołomin’s Jewish community was almost completely erased by the Holocaust. By translating this memorial book, we can restore that history to Polish society - bringing back the voices of those who are no longer with us and preserving their stories for future generations.
How can you help?
— Donate any amount – every contribution brings us closer to our goal
— Share this fundraiser on social media
🙏 We thank everyone who supports this project and believes, as we do, that memory is not just about the past — it is a responsibility for the future.
