Cancer in the eyes of a child – little Zosia urgently needs you!

Tumors were found in both of Zosia’s eyes. It is retinoblastoma - a malignant tumor, which aims at taking away Zosia's sight and life. Please, read the appeal of the parents who are fighting to save their daughter:

When we entered the oncology ward with Zosia for the first time, our hearts shattered. Zosia hasn’t even been on this earth for a year, and yet she has to fight the most difficult of fights - the fight for her life. We are in the process of chemotherapy treatment - we are fighting against time, as the disease progresses day by day...

While searching for help, we found a clinic in New York, where the most modern methods give Zosia a great chance to save her eyesight and life. Unfortunately, the price to pay for treatment in the U.S is enormous, so we are asking you for help, for her life ...

When Zosia was born, we were the happiest people on earth. Although she was born prematurely, she grew well. Every day, we saw two little eyes staring at us - the most beloved little eyes ... Back then, it didn't even cross our mind that a terrible disease could live within them.

We noticed the first disturbing signs around the sixth month after birth, when she started to squint a little. We were scared, yes, but we thought it would end up with a few visits to the ophthalmologist or possibly some correction surgery. Even our worst expectations couldn’t compare to the reality of what we heard from the ophthalmologist ...

“Strabismus is nothing. This is something much more serious. Your daughter is terminally ill. The child has a malignant tumor - there are tumors in both eyes. There is a fight for life ahead of you, then the fight to keep the eyes, and only at the very end for the sight ... ".

In one moment, our world collapsed. Neither of us could hold back tears. These words will remain in our memory for the rest of our lives. Subsequent examination of the eye left no doubts ...

The disease has progressed to such an extent that Zosia likely cannot see through her left eye likely. The retina is detached and there is a large, growing tumor on the back wall of the eye. The tumor of in the right eye is a bit smaller, but it can grow or spread at any time. The cancer with which we are fighting, can develop at a rapid pace ...

We immediately received a referral to the Oncology Clinic in Warsaw. Chemotherapeutics entered the little body. Zosia had to be given strong painkillers - we saw how badly it hurt her, yet we couldn't help her in any way. This helplessness is the worst ... Currently, Zosia is after two cycles of chemotherapy. Next, we wait for tests to show us the results.

Since finding out the diagnosis, we’re doing everything to find the best and most effective treatment methods. We contacted parents, who went through the same as us. We found out about Dr. Abramson in a clinic in New York.

Dr. Abramson has been treating even the most advanced cases of retinoblastoma for many years. There is, therefore, a great chance to save Zosia's eyesight and life! We are currently waiting for a detailed cost estimate for the treatment. We already know, with a heavy heart, that it will be over a million zlotys - a colossal cost, for the life and health of our child.

Zosia will turn one years old at the beginning of October. We would like to give her what is priceless - a chance for life. We will fight with all our strength to tell Zosia someday, in the future, that we did everything in our power to save her. We know that we have little time, because the cancer can spread at any moment…

We promised Zosia that we would go to the end of the world to save her. Now there is a chance to do so, but for it to happen, we need your help. Please help us save our little daughter...
