Let's get ahead of the disease together! Justyna's breath is worth a million!

My daughter Justyna is almost 16 years old and from birth she is struggling with a severe genetic disease which is cystic fibrosis.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetically determined disease of the entire body, the effects of which are most visible in the respiratory and digestive systems. The older a person, the longer he lives with the disease, the more it reflects on the body and takes away the joy of life.

On December 6 of that year, my daughter and I landed in an ambulance on a signal and next in the pediatric surgery department, because Justyna had spontaneous emphysema in her left lung.

It was necessary to insert a pleural drain and remove the accumulated fluid mechanically, as result she was in the intensive care unit for ten days.

We don't want such a life to become her everyday life!

After these 15 years of life, apart from cystic fibrosis, my daughter struggles every day with:

- chronic bronchitis

- chronic lung infection caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa

- polyps in the nose and sinuses

- pancreatic insufficiency

- diabetes

Visits to the hospital, as well as the amount of drugs, cannot be counted !

In addition, the constant need for inhalation and long-lasting breathing exercises is her everyday life. The worst thing is knowing that the disease is incurable.

The worst imaginable feeling is the constant pain that exists daily and comes with each breath.

I have heard from my daughter many times that she does not want to live because the pain takes away her joy of life.

However, there is a way to effectively fight the disease.

First drugs that are given continuously can really treat cystic fibrosis ! Unfortunately, they are very, very expensive and have to be taken every day, and they are not reimbursed in Poland.

Justyna should take two of them in combination therapy, and the monthly cost of this therapy is EUR 20,000!

So our only hope is your help. Every small payment counts, because with each such payment we are getting closer to providing Justyna with at least partial therapy, which will give her time to gather strength, prepare for adulthood, pass her final exams and make her own life decisions. Please help!
