8-year-old Oscar’s cancer is back! Help!

This nightmare started in 2022 and we still have not woken up from it. When our beloved son became ill, we could not believe it... And when the worst was behind us... The cancer came back... Each form of help is very important because we do not know what fate has in store for us...

The first symptoms? Occasional dizziness and vomiting. We thought that this was caused by the stress around starting a new grade. We were so wrong... We took our son to the doctor’s appointment looking for help with his ailments. He recommended a CT scan. The results devastated us… There was a tumour in our child’s head! 

We went to an oncology hospital where we had to talk to the doctor. The decision about surgery was made quickly. We were terrified because it lasted for 9 hours but the whole tumour was resected. Then, we had to wait for the surgical pathology report. Unfortunately, it was worse than we thought… Malignant brain tumour, very aggressive – medulloblastoma. Although we have never heard about such a diagnosis, we had to face it.

Treatment, according to the protocol, lasted until September 2023. Slowly, we started getting back to normal. And then, in April 2024, our world shattered again. Recurrence… Our fight started from the beginning. Currently, Oscar is undergoing treatment. Test results do not give clear answers. But as parents, we want do everything so that our son lives. We do not see any other possibility...

Oskar has always been an active child, he attended various sport classes. We know that it is very important for him to continue taking part in them. For this reason, for the last two years he has been trying to attend school, fencing classes and swimming pool. This year he is a volunteer during WOŚP because he wants sick children to smile more frequently. We are proud that our son is goodhearted and we admire his attitude. Oskar shows as that in the face of tragedy... One can find the light.

Our child gives us strength and motivation. We believe that we will finally be able to win with this merciless opponent… We want to provide additional rehabilitation and specialist consultations for Oscar. We are still looking for the best solutions. 

Or son’s life and health are the most important for us. Money cannot stand in our way. We have to save him because his is our whole world.
