Cystic fibrosis killed her sister - now Patrycja is fighting for life! Let's save her!

On 13th of August 2021 our little girl Natalka passed away. She lived through 18 wonderful years, but didn’t see her nineteenth birthday.

Now with a deadly disease struggles alone our second daughter, Patrycja. She is in a hospital. Antibiotics don’t work any more. So we ask you for help to save the life of our child, the only one remained.

Nati and Pati, two sisters joined not only with blood ties, but also with something else - a curse of cystic fibrosis (mucoviscidosis). If a child has an incurable disease it is tragedy, but when this hits both children, it’s the human drama, hard to describe with words

Cystic fibrosis devastates entire organism and is caused by gene mutation. Both Natalka and Patrycja got the most aggressive form of mucoviscidosis, which doomed them to hospitalization, to gastrostomy, to continuous fight for breath. The disease induces excessive release of mucus, flooding the lungs, taking away the breath, ruining the respiratory and digestive systems. It consumes whole body...

In August, mucoviscidosis took Natalia’s life.

When each day is an arduous struggle with the effects of the illness: inhalations, treatments, rehabilitation, then it’s hard to call it carefree and happy childhood. Every day the same.

However, when you know that in this rough and unfair routine you have a FRIEND - your sister - a companion in misery, everything appears as it were more normal, simpler. Hand in hand. Drip in a drip. Inhaler in an inhaler. Inspiration – exhalation.

She understands you like no one else. You support an watching each other, and banter. TOGETHER it is a little easier to receive this cruel injustice.

Until one day you remain alone on the battlefield for breath. And nothing will ever be the same.“

In the face of the tragedy that hit a family of girls, we must gather all our strengths together and save Patrycja, who still stands a chance of living on, if she get a drug, which holds the disease back. Unfortunately, the medicine is non-refundable in our country.

It enables rational treatment – curing not the effects, but the cause of illness. Increases lung capacity and the organs gradually regenerate. So, instead of wasting time on frustration, dreaming and feeling unjustness. we have to stick to the facts and fight.

1. Monthly therapy costs – NOTE! - PLN 80,000 (about EUR 20,000).

2. You can not stop taking the medication. as this will result in drastic deterioration of the patients health.

PLN 80,000 for every month of child's life. We are not able to imagine what parents feel, when, being plunged into mourning, they must fight for the health and life of their beloved daughter, but see the amount unachievable for ordinary citizen.

Patrycja is a cheerful teenager of many talents. Despite the serious illness and many limitations associated with it (daily inhalations, treatments, rehabilitation, a hospital that became her second home) she still has dreams. She loves animals very much (she even underwent a grooming course!). Let';s help her fulfill her dreams and live on!
