Help Pawel to hug his kids again...

Every day I wake up hoping the last few days were only a bad dream. I wake up hoping that Pawel will be waiting for me in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and a big smile, as he did every morning. Instead, every day when I wake up I realise that my Husband is not at home. He is in hospital, fighting for his future.

Pawel suffered from a severe stroke, that in a matter of seconds turned him from an energetic 43 year old man into a patient totally dependable on others. But the stroke itself was not the end of our drama. During the procedure of removing the blood cloth from the carotid artery, the artery tore causing a secondary blood cloth in the central brain artery and the swelling of the brain. Pawel was in a coma and I could do absolutely nothing to help. After a whole long week, Pawel started to wake up and he was slowly taken off the life support machine.

At the moment Pawel can only maintain eye contact. His right side is fully paralysed. He suffers from aphasia, meaning he completely lost the ability to speak. At this point it is impossible to assess if there is any damage to his memory and other brain processing functions. He requires extensive care and long specialised rehabilitation. All I know is that I cannot give up on him, for our three children and for the whole of our family. That's why I am asking for your help to raise funds necessary to help him recover. Any, even the smallest, donation counts and brings us closer to get Pawel back.
