Campaign goal: Help for people who have been forced to leave their homes by war or natural disasters
Campaign description
Every person, regardless the origin, gender, skin color, or nationality, deserves safe and decent living conditions.
It has never been this bad. At the end of 2022, there were 108,4 million people who had to flee their homes, 19 million more than a year before. It’s the fastest growth ever. Due to war in Ukraine, conflict in Sudan, and severe drought in Somalia, this number grew to 110 million in the first half of 2023.

Many causes lead to becoming a refugee, and the influence this state has on people is very profound. Among the most common reasons for fleeing are:
- wars,
- human rights violations,
- persecutions,
- catastrophes,
- the climate crisis.

Last year, almost 60% of refugees had to flee because of armed conflicts. Millions of people have to leave their homes because of natural disasters and advancing climate changes. As many as 32,6 million people find themselves in this situation. People in the Horn of Africa are experiencing the most severe ongoing crisis. The situation is especially dire in Somalia, which faces the effects of the worst drought in 40 yours.

Contrary to the widespread opinion, the vast majority of people forced to flee don’t leave their countries. 60% of refugees are internally displaced persons.
In most of the countries in which we work, the people whom we are helping are refugees. What do we do to help fulfill their needs?
➡️ we ensure safe shelter (by reconstructing houses, distributing tents, blankets, mattresses, and winter clothing, and establishing temporary living spaces),
➡️ we provide access to water and decent sanitary conditions (by building and restoring water collection points, latrines, and bathrooms, delivering water with trucks, and distributing hygiene kits),
➡️ we provide food (by distributing food kits, giving grants for seeds and tools purchase),
➡️ we give financial assistance,
➡️ we offer psychological support.

During this especially difficult year, we ask you to support us by contributing to this fundraiser. Our work wouldn’t be possible without your help.
