Dangerous falls happen too often❗️Gabrysia needs URGENT leg surgery❗️

We very much appreciate your empathy and support for our previous fundraiser! Thanks to you, our daughter underwent hand surgery! 

We were terrified after seeing the cost estimate. Collecting 350,000 zlotys seemed impossible, but you made it happen! We felt relieved. Our joy didn’t last long, though - Gabrysia still requires lower limb surgery, which is TWICE AS EXPENSIVE as the previous one, and we are so scared!

Initially, we thought our baby girl would be born healthy. The first examination results were promising! Unfortunately, further ultrasound proved us wrong. My doctor said that her hands grew shorter than the rest of her body. Also, other defects were suspected! We felt enormous stress and anxiety that didn’t go away.

Upper limb defects turned out to be more challenging than we had thought. Gabrysia was born without the radius, which made her tiny hands look like they were sewn to the elbows. When she was five years old, she could not put on clothes or wash up. We knew that such a defect would require surgical intervention! Finally, we came across Dr Paley, who agreed to treat our beloved daughter. Unfortunately, the costs of surgery and follow-up treatment were enormous, and our world fell apart again…

Thankfully, you helped Gabrysia undergo the hand surgery! However, because her bones are still growing too slowly (which is what the disease is known for), she can have a limb-lengthening surgery in the future. Now, we need to focus on something else, though. 

The doctors strongly recommend lower limb (especially left leg) surgery due to its complex defect. It is URGENT! Orthoses and consultations nationwide failed, and only Dr Paley offered the right solution! 

The lower limb defect affects her life. Her leg tends to tremble, which disrupts her balance. As a result, she often falls, which is DANGEROUS! Also, her kneecap is dislocated (laterally), and she cannot straighten her leg! One of the doctors was shocked to see how much her bones were curved and surprised she could walk! 

Gabrysia does not give up, though. She dreams of moving without pain. She cannot put her whole foot on the ground, so she tiptoes. Our little girl has gone through so much! Sadly, she is barely halfway through her path to recovery. After her left leg surgery, she will require surgery to fix her right leg! 

Fate gave our daughter twisted hands and legs, and also blood and bone disease. They are all curable, though! Her physical abilities can only be regained through surgeries. The previous hand surgery was the perfect example of that! Unfortunately, they are too expensive for us. Time is running out, and the longer we wait, the less effective the procedures will be. 

Lower limb surgeries cost ca. 800,000 zlotys! Thankfully, the treatment is divided into several stages, so first, we need to raise "only" 440,000 zlotys to fix Gabrysia's left leg - which is a priority, according to the doctors. 

We find it embarrassing to ask you for donations. As parents, we wish we could afford to provide our child with a healthy and safe future, but sadly, we cannot. This is why we are asking you, full of hope, to help us raise funds for the surgery and prevent Gabrysia from using the WHEELCHAIR.
