Can you imagine a life in which washing your hands is a luxury and giving water to animals is a dilemma?
Do you know that collecting rainwater is one of the most ecological and accessible ways to solve the water scarcity problem?
Rainwater may satisfy up to 80% of daily needs but without tanks, rainwater simply sinks into the ground!
Meanwhile, in many places in Africa water is a luxury. Children, animals and crops suffer because of its shortage. We cannot allow for every raindrop to be a missed chance!
Let’s collect water so there is enough of it!
Polish history in Uganda that needs to be remembered. Future that needs you!
On the Koya Peninsula, thousands of Polish Sybiraks found shelter between 1942 and 1951. Today only a cemetery, polish homes and memories still remain there but we do not want this place to have only the past, we want it to have future as well.
The Children of Africa Foundation has built a school here – a symbol of hope for hundreds of children. Now it is time for another step: water that will change their daily life.
Let’s prevent rainwater from going to waste!
There are four buildings in the school in Kiruddu and we want to install rain gutters on them to collect water effectively. Water will be stored in two 10000-litre tanks and this will allow us to collect 20 000 litres of clean utility water. Each tank will be fitted with a tap that will allow children to wash their hands easily, and the people will be able to pour the water into buckets and use it for their daily needs.
This solution is ecological, simple and effective! Help us provide it – every drop matters!
➡️ Hygiene and health – water for washing hands and clothes, cleaner conditions at school.
➡️ Help for animals – cattle and poultry will not suffer because of thirst and families will be able to maintain their homesteads.
➡️ Support for crops – school garden and local plantations will be able to grow.
➡️ Saving potable water – which is invaluable there.
➡️ Protection for soil and buildings – the tanks allow to control water level during pouring rains.
We cannot allow for water to go to waste! Help us provide solutions that will ensure a better future for children from Uganda.
