Support for the 50th Powązki fundraiser – Let's save the Powązki Monuments!

Powązki is one of the oldest Polish cemeteries. It symbolizes the memory of people who became legends while still alive and left an unforgettable cultural legacy. Their extraordinary lives are impossible to describe in one book.  

Not only outstanding Polish people are laid to rest here - there are also our ancestors, the memory of whom has been inevitably fading away. 

Therefore, we must preserve it constantly. 

Thanks to Jerzy Waldorff's initiative, we have saved and revived historic tombstones at Stare Powązki cemetery.

Within 50 years, the Jerzy Waldorff Social Committee has renovated 1700 historic tombstones and chapels, including, in the past few years, Avenue of the Meritorious, Avenue of the Catacombs, and graves associated with Frederic Chopin. All Saint's Day fundraising has become our tradition, and this year marks its 50th anniversary! 

We are the third generation of collectors!

Powązki cemetery symbolizes the priceless elements of the pre-war Warsaw reality.

This year, we want to reach more people who know how important it is to save our legacy.

Since we realize that not everyone can visit the Powązki cemetery this year, we offer a chance to join our initiative by donating to an online fundraiser. 

The Powązki annual fundraiser is represented by many generations and environments. The volunteer collectors you can meet at Powązki cemetery include famous actors, journalists, and singers with their families equipped with traditional mess kits serving as money boxes. 

It feels mandatory to come here.
