Fundraiser description

Shortly after my son was born, I remember the doctor saying that “his tiny leg required amputation”. I cried so much until I ran out of tears… And then, I decided to do everything I could to make Ryyan’s recovery possible, even if the chances were slim. And there we are, 10 years later!
My little boy was born with a rare congenital skeletal condition - tibial hemimelia (the lack of a tibia and knee joint). He also has an osteophyte (bone spur), and a club foot. Despite his condition, he is a truly exceptional and brave boy. He is my hero!

The multi-stage treatment that started over 10 years ago has been long and painful and has involved multiple stages. Still, it is necessary to offer Rayyan a chance to regain mobility and independence. None of this would have been possible without your support, though! Thanks to your generous and kind hearts, my son was able to undergo numerous surgeries, including a limb lengthening procedure. However, a child’s rapid growth makes it difficult to foresee what’s coming next…
Unfortunately, over the course of several years, the limb length discrepancy increased to as much as 17 cm, and the condition of his hip also deteriorated. In June 2026, thanks to your donations, he underwent surgery at the Paley Institute. My son had a special bone-lengthening nail inserted in his leg. The process itself will take several months. Doctor Paley has also fixed Rayyan’s hip and performed a surgery to induce growth arrest of the unaffected limb (to stop it from growing), and gain those precious extra centimetres.

Rayyan now faces an intense rehabilitation with appointments at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute. Also, a new orthosis and a special shoe insert will be made for him to help him take his next steps. The limb-lengthening process is still in progress, as well. I hoped that we would be able to relax after the surgery, but the rising treatment costs are constantly on our minds.

Although it’s not easy for me, I must ask you for help again! The costs of rehabilitation, treatment monitoring, and related medical expenses are overwhelming. I’m scared that one day, I will have to tell my son that we’ve run out of funds and that I can no longer afford to pay for his treatment and rehabilitation… I cannot take his chance for recovery away from him!
Rayyan has already suffered so much… Although the threat of amputation is gone, the treatment and physical therapy are difficult and painful. However, we cannot give up and let the lack of funds stand in the way of Rayyan’s recovery. My son and I are begging you for help to finally end our battle!
