I want to live for them. It is for my children, that I fight cancer

The year 2013 started for me and my family as beautifully as possible; in March our son Oskar appeared into the world, who was happily greeted by his proud older sister, our daughter Blanka, and after a few years of living with my parents, we finally were able to begin building our dream house.

Everything was perfect, and the only thing that caused me anxiety was a recurring abdominal pain, for which I consulted with a general practitioner. After the assessment, the only thing I heard was that I have to lose weight and come back in a few months. I changed my eating habits, the construction of the house was moving forward, the children were growing on seemingly a daily basis, yet unfortunately, the pains were getting stronger, so much so that I went to a specialist clinic for a private consultation. After a series of tests, the doctors said that this was an ailment due my particular constitution and that they could not identify the cause of the  relentless and worsening pains.

In May, after returning home without diagnosis, the next days went by in great pain, painkillers did not bring relief, and on the night of June 4 to 5 I asked my wife to call for help.  I felt that something very bad was happening. I was repeatedly and painfully vomiting, and this took away the opportunity to catch my breath. After a few hours at the A&E, one of the doctors after seeing the abdominal ultrasound decided on an immediate operation, which turned out to be an operation to save my life; the cause of all the ailments was colon cancer.

This information shocked both me and the whole family, all our plans were ruined. The struggle for life began; the postoperative wound did not heal, abscesses formed, and sepsis started. After a few weeks of fighting for my life, my condition finally began to improve; the drugs started to work, the fever subsided and finally I could go home.

The most beautiful moment, after these hard weeks was to be able to return to the family, to my children whom I have not seen for more than a month. I will never  forget  the look on my daughter’s face as started to cry when she saw me, because she did not recognize me anymore. The month long struggle for life completely changed me both mentally and physically. After a month of convalescence, there was further treatment according to my doctors' recommendations. I received 12 cycles of post-operative chemotherapy, I was hoping that it was the end of the fight, that I won my life and I could continue my plans, unfortunately my fate was otherwise .

In March 2015, periodic follow-up tests indicated that something was untoward was beginning to again happen again in my body. This eventually ended with another operation, because the cancer has now spread to my liver, history began to repeat itself, and another 12 cycles of chemotherapy and another joyous return to home and reality. Unfortunately another cruel twist of fate occurred in December 2017 when another diagnosis was made – again colon cancer – then a third surgery, a third round of chemotherapy, another temporary joy that this time it this could truly be the end of this fight.

Alas, it was only good until October 2018. This time I heard that the cancer had returned to the liver, where 6 new tumors appeared. In Poland, the only option available was chemotherapy - unfortunately we know that it had failed to work three times before  and had caused my body great distress, so we started to look for another option . We found help in the Clinic Vorreiter Clinic in Germany. After consulting with Dr. Med. Janus R. Vorreiter in Germany and his familiarization with the history of my illness, he presented a proposal for an experimental treatment, surgery followed by immunological therapy, which will significantly reduce the likelihood of tumor recurrence and strengthen my body through therapies removing the side effects of the previous 36 cycles of chemotherapy.

I dream that this fight will finally end so that I can fall asleep without thinking about whether I will be able to enjoy life among adolescent children. I know that the next treatment in Poland will only cause more serious destruction of my body, and in some time there will probably be another outbreak, which is a fight with windmills. I want to live, and have the opportunity to bring up my children, and I believe this is my last chance.
