W przyszłym tygodniu mamy jeszcze kontrolę i jeśli wszystko będzie w porządku będziemy mogli wracać do Polski pod koniec przyszłego tygodnia.

Dziękujemy z całego serca! Bez Was operacja naszego ukochanego Synka, ratowanie jego życia byłoby niemożliwe. Jesteście WIELCY!

Fundraiser description

Our son's life is in danger! An urgent pulmonary vein surgery needs to be performed, otherwise he is going to die. We only have few weeks to go to Professor Malec. Feliks is not even one year old and he has already undergone two open heart surgeries ... Unfortunately - there were catastrophic complications which are causing our son to slowly fade away ... Please help, if we make it, Feliks has a chance to live!

Feliks is getting weaker, his heart can no longer cope. Pulmonary hypertension increases dangerously and may soon become permanent. Then it will be too late for the surgery, so we should hurry up. Our son's heart can be saved, prof. Edward Malec – world’s class cardiac surgeon gave us a chance. Last Wednesday we were qualified for a surgery and we got a cost estimate. Unfortunately, the amount is beyond our budget, so we are asking for your help to save Feliks’s heart… to save his life...

Feliks Bydliński

Feliks was born on the 6th of June 2017 with very rare heart condition – total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage. We found out about the heart defect at 30 weeks of pregnancy, we were shocked and scared but still hopeful that everything will be ok. After studying the topic, we realized that usually this heart defect requires only one surgery and most of the babies live normally afterwards. There was hope…

It is difficult to describe our anxiety and despair when, after 15 hours of labor, we remained in the hospital without our baby boy. In the eighth day of Feliks’s life he underwent a long open-heart surgery. We were hoping that one surgery would be enough and we will go home with a healthy baby…

It was impossible to hold back tears when we saw our son after the surgery – our baby was intubated and connected to numerous pumps with medication, there was a big wound in the middle of his chest… Our brave son was slowly getting better, unfortunately the worst was just ahead of us. It turned out he developed life threatening complication called vein stenosis, the attempted catherization to enlarge the veins was unsuccessful. When Feliks was 3 months old his condition began to deteriorate. He had problems breathing and he was getting weaker. We had to perform next surgery.

Feliks Bydliński

In the fourth month of his life, Feliks had second cardiac surgery. Everything came back like a bad dream – fear and uncertainty ... There was, however, some hope that this time the surgery went well... Unfortunately, the vein stenosis appeared again, we knew Feliks would need another surgery, but this time it would be even more difficult, with little hope of success ...

We started looking for help abroad - in Germany, in the USA and in Italy. In February, Feliks was examined by prof. Malec, who recommended cardiac catheterization as soon as possible. The procedure was performed at the end of March, and the results left no doubt - we have to save Feliks's life as soon as possible!

Professor Malec asked us to come as soon as possible. Narrowed pulmonary veins must be treated as soon as possible before the changes in the lungs become permanent! If that happens the last chance for Feliks would only be a lung transplant. We would like our son to be in the best hands. After the last two surgeries, complications occurred very quickly, the doctors had to open Feliks’s heart again, and each of these surgeries were extremely dangerous. We hope this time the veins wouldn’t narrow so quickly and our little son gets at least few years to recover and some more time to find other options!

Feliks Bydliński

One thing is clear - if Feliks does not go to Münster as soon as possible, there will be no more options. His heart will beat for the last time, and then it will be quiet forever ... We cannot surrender, we will fight till the end. Please, help us save the life of our beloved son ...
