Sławek needs your help after six-metre fall from the mountain !

I would have never thought that my passion would make the worst grief in my life.

One day changed everything and for the last two years I have been continuously struggling for my health. I need your help!

I always used to be very active. Trekking, skiing, sailing, swimming, cycling, I loved sport and outdoor activities. My friends kept asking me for the source  of my energy, and my answer was “endorphins”. They triggered my positive feeling.

I wanted to try some new experience. I had dreamt of high mountain climbing for a long time, so I enrolled on a course. I wish I hadn’t.

I fell from the six-meter high mountain because the instructor had used improper safety rope. How irresponsible and ridiculous ?  I slipped and collapsed on the rock.

My protection was not sufficient. I broke my back and it damaged the spinal cord. I was taken to the hospital and operated on.

The next day diagnosis was shocking. Suddenly, I saw the wall between me  and my previous life. I couldn’t feel my legs!

However, the wise doctor I met told me to fight. There was a chance I would walk again. Hope dies last, so I began my two-year long journey.

After several months of hard, painful and exhausting recovery I am able to step using crutches but what I desire is walking. For the time being, I can’t keep my balance, I collapse very often and hurt myself.  I also suffer from leg cramps and muscle pain.

I didn’t give up and I’m not going to. I want to fight for more. However, I need  a continuous rehabilitation but the Polish Health System fails to provide one.  I got only the basic treatment that is not sufficient.                                                                                      

I dare to beg for the help as the modern rehabilitation methods are available only for additional fee that I can’t afford. I don’t work, I only get a disablement pension. What’s more, the insurance company refused my claim as the policy didn’t include extreme sports accidents.                                                                  

I promised my wife and my daughter, I would break the wall I faced on that memorable day. I believe I can. I’m looking forward to it but  I need your help.
