SOS Turkey/Syria
The money box was created on the initiative of the Organizer who is responsible for its content.
A powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck southeastern Turkey, killing at least 5k people and injuring thousands. The death toll in both Turkey and Syria could be much higher as many people are still trapped under the rubble, without any contact.

According to estimates, as many as 12 million people may be affected by the disasters, including 2 million Syrians currently residing in these areas. The Kahramanmaras province and the surrounding area within a radius of 400 km were hit the hardest. Hundreds of buildings, including schools and hospitals got destroyed in the municipalities of Malatya and Hatay.

PAH Immediate Aid Team is on its way to the place to assess the scale of needs and immediately start providing help - in such a situation every day counts! It is known that the needs are huge, because the disaster has left hundreds of thousands of people have lost their possessions and the roof over their heads.

The seismic situation is very unstable - strong aftershocks are recorded, which makes it difficult to provide help, and the needs are growing every moment. The temperature in the area is very low right now, so access to a warm shelter is paramount. Also, the humanitarian situation on the ground is very dynamic at the moment, so we will inform you regularly about further details of our assistance.
