Death in the child’s eyes. Dramatically little time for treatment-Help, please!

This call  for help is very special as it concerns Stas who was born on the 26th of  November 2020. You may ask yorself questions ….Is it possible that such a small child is suffering from a cancer. Can such a small kid be terminally ill and fight for his life? Unfortunately, the answer is yes… Our son has been diagnosed with a malignant cancer- retinoblastoma affecting both eyes. Our son has just been born. At the moment we can not think of any more horrible illness than the cancer.

It was on the 8th of December that we heard the diagnosis- we found out that the cancer affected our son’s eye and soon spread to the other eye. Further examination results broke our hearts into pieces.  We had no time for despair, though. Our fight  and chemotherapy started immediately. We prayed that the poison killed the cancer , not our beloved son. Nothing is like it was supposed to be.

After a few more cycles of chemotherapy, blood transfusion was necessary. Our son is only 10 months old and has gone through so much. We live in constant fear for his health and life. We are looking forward to further examinations and pray that the tumors become inactive and our son no longer suffers and can enjoy happy childhood at home, not in hospital. Our faith is not enough, however. Stas needs treatment abroad.

Stan has had 5 cycles of systemic chemotherapy, one intra-arterial chemotherapy, 3 left eye laser treatments. Unfortunately, each next examination shows more tumors.

W have exhausted all the possibilities of treatment in Poland. The last chance for our son is in the United States of America. Doctor Abramson - a specialist in retinoblastoma treatment has agreed to help us. We have to start the treatment on the 17th of November 2021.  The treatment costs about 1 million PLN (253 723.39 USD) and we have so little time left. Stas got his last chemotherapy on the 21st of September . He should receive the next dose of chemotherapy in New York so as not to stop the treatment.

Stas is not even 1 year old. He learns something new every day, he explores the world and smiles. His whole life depends on the treatment. We have been given the chance which a lot of kids have never received. On the 17th of November we have to be in New York clinic. Only with your help and suport we can make it.

Over 20 years of experience in children’s eye cancer treatment is a great chance for us. We received the cost estimation of the treatment yesterday. We know cases of children suffering from retinoblastoma who have been treated in the USA and it has been estimated we need about 1 million polish zlotys for the treatment. We have no other alternative to defeat the illness. We have to face it!

In the coming weeks we will need a few miracles - thanks to Siępomaga foundation we are fighting for the first miracle to happen - we are asking you for help ! We have to collect the enormous sum of money to be able to fly to the USA and continue the treatment. We are begging you for help which will enable the treatment of our son before it is too late. The cancer has attacked both eyes of our son - we can not wait any longer. The second chance will probably not happen so we are asking for your support in the fight for the eyesight and the life of our son. Each minute, each hour is so stressful until someone tells us that it is all over and our son will live and will be able to see. We know that you made even bigger miracles happen. We are begging you for help, life and eyesight of our son…
