Help for Szymek!

The news about your child's illness blows your mind. All of a sudden it becomes dark in front of your eyes, your whole body becomes stiff and you want to run halfway across the world.  But then you have to wake up and fight ... Fight for the life of someone, who is  the most important to you.

On an anomaly scan we heard that our longed-for son has a heart failure and will need a surgery right after delivery, as well as specialist care.  Szymon was born with a heart defect in the form of aortic stenosis and multiple VSDs. This defect slowed his physical development, he was born weighing only 1780 grams.   He had to be connected to a special apparatus until he will reach 2 kilograms and then he would be able to undergo a life-saving operation.  It was not an easy time, but we waited with hope for an improvement in his health.

Szymon has successfully undergone open-heart surgery. After a long rehabilitation, the time has come for another operation - full correction.  Unfortunately, after thorough examinations, physicians in Poland found that the septal defects in Szymon's heart are so numerous and in such hardly accessible places that they cannot offer us help ...  We hit a wall again and we were in turmoil.  The news was devastating.  At the beginning of our journey, we were assured that the defect could be subjected to surgery, that it was possible to live with it, and now we have heard that it was beyond the physicians' capabilities ...  We started to search for help abroad.  We have waited a long time for this day.

There were tears of happiness and indescribable joy.  We found a clinic in Geneva, where the specialists gave us hope  as they would undertake Szymon's surgery!  Our baby son can have a healthy heart!  Unfortunately, happiness began to mix with despair when we heard that the operation was valued at around 100,000 Swiss Francs!

Today Szymon is a joyful boy, but his heart is weakening.  We have to do everything so that we can collect this amount by January.  We will be able to save Szymon's heart only with your help!
