Fundraiser description
For 8 years, Szymon's life has been described by delayed psychomotor development, decreased muscle tone, balance disorders, anxiety aggression and lack of verbal communication. Only for 4 years have we known the specific diagnosis and are able to name the condition resulting from the lack of pulse detected during the CTG examination ...
For us, an unplanned cesarean section opened a new chapter in our lives that we cannot prepare for. Back then, nothing foreshadowed the enormity of the tragedy we have to live with. Our son received 9 points on the Apgar scale, but the apparently healthy child continued to bend painfully and cry. My son was not babbling, and the neurologists in our city were consoling me that every child is different, develops differently, and my son may need more time. I felt that not everything was fine with my son and that time would not be his ally.

There was a nightmare anxiety about our child's life. At the age of 2, we decided to have an MRI, which confirmed my suspicions, showing neurological changes in the brain. Every day we realized more and more, that our life with Szymon would be full of challenges and devoid of joy, known to parents of healthy children. It is not optimistic that the exhausting, painful rehabilitation does not bring any results and our son's condition does not improve. His time in kindergarten is very difficult. Unable to play with children, he pulled his hair and pinched for lack of other communication options and knowing it was causing pain. He has a problem with deep feeling himself, but we still believe in rehabilitation, sensory integration and hippotherapy. In kindergarten, Szymon did not know what toys were for, he did not know how to socialize. I cannot go with my son to the store, to the post office, to the playground ... I also cannot contain my tears when I write about it.
Today, my son attends an integration class with four other children. Unfortunately, the effects of education are not spectacular. We practice drawing lines at home and I can see that my son is interested in this activity, especially when his hand guided by me.
For a long time, we have been desperately looking for flashes of joy in our complicated lives, sparkles of hope that will give us the strength to fight for a better life for our son. We found it all thanks to Dr. Krawczyk and her stem cell therapy at the ŻagielMed Hospital in Lublin. Parents of children, who noticed a significant improvement in their children's health after therapy, inspired me to try it.
Here, unfortunately, there is an obstacle that is difficult for us to overcome on our own. Over PLN 50,000 to carry out 5 intravenous infusions with stem cells from an unrelated donor. The three-month cell multiplication in the lab has already begun, and I believe that before there are 30 million cells, we will raise the amount that will allow the first dose of stem cells to be administered. You can help us too!
