So that Teoś can confidently walk through his life!

Teo (Teoś) was born on the 15th of September 2022. The day of his birth was the most beautiful day of our life and we felt so blessed. His exited bigger sister waited for him at home and she was looking forward to meeting him. It’s amazing how much love a little child can bring.

We welcomed Teo with the biggest love that you could imagine. Our beautiful son doesn’t understand the words, but we are certain that he understands our emotions and feels our unconditional love to him.

We found out about his congenital defect on the first prenatal ultrasound. The abnormality was noticed in Teo’s left leg but we hoped it wouldn’t be that serious. Unfortunately, when Teo was born, we heard the worst diagnosis. Fibular hemimelia – we have repeated these words hundreds of times so far, but it’s still difficult to believe that this condition affects our son.

Fibular hemimelia is a birth defect where part or all of the fibular bone is missing. Teo hasn’t got the fibular bone at all, on top of that there is shortening and deformation of his tibial bone, the metatarsal is missing and there is absence of some toes too. We are currently in the middle of orthopaedic consultation as the treatment plan is being established. However, we already know that the multistage treatment will be very expensive and complicated.

Our lovely son is so little and innocent. He didn’t deserve to have a harder start into his life. Fortunately, he is not aware of his condition just yet and he doesn’t know that his leg doesn’t look like it should. When we think about this hard time of our life, we cry our eyes out and feel so helpless.

We are sure, that Teo would like to tell us not to worry so much, everything will be fine and that he will walk on both legs sooner or later but.. We know, that it won’t happen without your generous help. Teo is a wonderful child and his health is our biggest dream. Let’s save his leg together!
