This help is a chance for a better future!

The Child Care Home in Grotniki is a shelter for 30 children of all ages. The youngest are just over 3 years old and it is here that they played on the playground for the first time, rode a bike or swam in the pool. They make up for everything they were deprived of in their first years of life, and their joy of discovering is a great reward for educators. The time spent at home also means supplementing school backlogs and eliminating health negligence. The staff of the center tries to quickly diagnose any development deficits in order to be able to effectively help and ultimately support the improvement of school results and the social functioning of the pupils.

Despite the solicitous care, any institution is not able to replace the patterns learned from a properly functioning family. The emotional and developmental state in which children are admitted to the center has a huge impact on them. Pupils tend to have lower school performance than their peers and very low self-esteem. It is very difficult for them to believe in their chances of success in the future because they have no further emotional and financial support in their lives. They also don't have many opportunities and conditions to discover their strengths and build self-confidence.

The TRANSFORMERS project, carried out by the YPO Polish Chapter community, is to be a chance for the Children of Grotniki to change their attitude. The goal is to build a new Transformation Workshop and a Greenhouse and implement them in the permanent operation of the House. The studio and the Greenhouse are supposed to be a safe space for learning life-skills and development of competences that increase the chances of the pupils' independence and a faster, better start into adulthood. The new place that we would like to build in the Child Care Home in Grotniki will allow us to activate the potential of the children, and will serve both them and the staff of the facility as a work tool.

The TRANSFORMERS project will take place on April 17 and 18, 2021 in Grotniki. While the participants of the event will build a greenhouse, renovate the rooms of the House and equip them with new furniture and appliances, the pupils will spend time on a three-day camp. Under the watchful eye of qualified staff, they will take part in workshops, games and lectures, which will allow them to discover and develop their interests, at the same time shaping independence, and greater self-confidence.

This charity collection is non-public and is intended only for members of the YPO Polish Chapter. Its aim is to collect the amount of PLN 150,000 for the implementation of the TRANSFORMERS project. However, if the final amount turns out to be higher, we would like to allocate additional funds for targeted scholarships for the residents of the center. Thanks to them, they will be able to develop their individual passions and make their dreams come true.
