Fundraiser description

Tymon is still a little boy. He doesn`t realize that his left leg is shorter than his right leg by 3 centimeters. He also doesn`t know that without future treatment his leg will get much shorter which means that he won`t live a normal life. He has the most beautiful smile in the world and my heart breaks because I know what my son will have to go through ... That`s why I ask you from the bottom of my heart for your help.

The surgery is the only hope for him in order to avoid permanent disability. I found out about my son`s disease 3 months after giving birth and it was the worst day of my life. When suddenly somebody tells you that your child will be disabled and there is a life full of pain ahead of him, the world stops... How is it possible? It can`t be true. Millions of thoughts are racing through your head. I took a glimpse at my son, who looked and smiled the same way as the day before. He reached out his hands towards me. But everything else changed...

Fibular hemimelia is a very rare disorder that only occurs in one in 40 000 births. I was worried about the asymmetrical view of the left leg and the lack of ankle in the foot but only the second orthopedist made me aware of the severity of the defect. We desperately started searching for help.

We received a ray of hope from the world-famous orthopedist-Dror Paley. The doctor from Paley European Institute promised to " repair " Tymon`s leg. Now we believe that Tymon can have both legs of equal length and live like his peers.

Unfortunately, the cost of ankle reconstruction and leg lengthening exceeds my financial capabilities...Tymon will have to undergo several similar procedures during his puberty because his left leg grows slower than the right one. The cost will be gigantic but I have to do everything to give my son a chance.

At any moment, with his first steps, Tymuś will have orthoses and special shoes with an increase. He will require many hours of strenuous rehabilitation.

I just want my son to have equal opportunities for development, happy and normal life. That`s why I`m asking you for help. I can`t save my son`s leg by myself.
