Fundraiser description

After 16 years in Scotland, we returned to Poland. June 7, 2020, is a crucial date for us. It is a feast day of Saint Mary of Perpetual Help, to whom we entrusted ourselves. We have felt her continuous care and guidance since the cancer diagnosis we heard two years ago.

It all started in March 2021, right before Easter. We decided to switch to a 14-day fruit and vegetable diet. It was an opportunity to get a detox. The morning after we completed the diet, I discovered a lump in my breast when I was taking a shower.

It was easy to notice, thanks to the 14 pounds I lost because of the fasting…

When I went to the hospital for an examination, I heard the diagnosis - HER2-positive breast cancer that metastasized to lymph nodes…

On that day, the battle to stay alive for 7-year-old daughter Victoria and a loving husband Andrzej has begun. My initial treatment included chemotherapy, tumor, and lymph node removal in March 2022. We hoped our struggle ended. My histopathology report was negative! No one would have predicted cancer recurrence. It did happen two months later, though. A wound that appeared on my breast could not heal.

The biopsy result showed cancer relapse, so I required a second treatment. This time it was immunotherapy and radiation therapy. Unfortunately, PET scan results showed metastasis to the lymph nodes of the right armpit. The presence of the Mother of God gave us much strength, showing us the path, and my disease taught me to stay focused. We started to search for other treatment options and support and consulted specialists. I underwent another surgery to remove the lymph nodes.

Finally, I was offered to take part in a clinical trial involving a new drug.

Another option was to check into a hospice…

Since I had hormone-dependent cancer, I required surgery to remove the ovaries and fallopian tubes, after which I experienced some complications. Due to peritonitis and another hospital stay, I could not participate in the program.

I want to thank you all for your previous support. Your donations have been invaluable! However, I must ask you for more.

I have been undergoing a non-refundable treatment that is crucial to help me defeat my drug-resistant cancer. It costs ca. 15,000 zlotys per month! I will be extremely grateful for every donation that will help me regain strength.

Writing about my problems is difficult, but I hope that by telling my story, I will contribute to cancer awareness and convince people to take preventive measures, including regular checkups.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and keep you in our prayers.
