Fundraiser description
Marcel is a cheerful and ambitious boy who wants to equal his peers at all costs. It is not easy for him. My son has cerebral palsy. From the very beginning, I did everything I could to provide him with the best care and support. Unfortunately, physiotherapy has not brought the expected results for a long time. His condition is systematically deteriorating! The only hope for him is to be operated. When I heard the cost of surgeries, I felt as if I had lost the ground under my feet... It is over a quarter of a million Polish Zlotys ... With all the expenses I spend on a daily basis for numerous therapies, collecting such a huge sum is impossible!! However, I know that these surgeries are the only chance for Marcel for a better future. I can't do it alone, so please help ...

This year, it will be seven years since Marcel was born. He received a reduced Apgar score at birth. After a few days, I noticed that my son's body had excessive muscle tension and the position was asymmetrical. I knew something was wrong, but hoped it wouldn't be serious. After several medical consultations and tests, the doctors diagnosed Marcel with cerebral palsy. Damages in the left cerebral hemisphere resulting in right-sided paresis. I was broken... The disease is incurable. It was a huge blow! However, I decided to fight for my child's health and happiness!
From the age of 3 months, Marcel has been taking part in intensive, exhausting rehabilitation. My son cried many times from fatigue and pain during exercises, and I tried to explain to him that it was for his good. Now Marcel is almost 7 years old and his everyday life is still rehabilitation and constant visits to doctors. This year he went to school. Other children go to numerous extra-curricular activities, and Marcel fights for his fitness every day with the sweat of his brow. This is not how childhood should be, but there is no other way. Marcel's dream is to join a football school and train football with other children.

Marcel is very brave. Like a small warrior! When I see him trying so hard, tears come to my eyes. We still use many therapeutic options: physiotherapy, massages, relaxation treatments, hand therapy. He is regularly injected with botulinum toxin every six months. Unfortunately, despite his hard work and the support of great physiotherapists, they no longer bring the expected results, and Marcel's condition is constantly deteriorating.
I thought nothing could be done anymore. I was depressed for a long time, but finally there was a light in the tunnel! Marcel was qualified for a neurological surgery (SDR - Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) and orthopedic surgery (PERCS) at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in the USA. This is the only chance for him to significantly improve his health! Treatments should be carried out as soon as possible and only specialists from the USA can undertake them. After the surgeries, my son will face new challenge. Learning to walk! It breaks my heart when I think of the difficulties he has to face.

Marcel struggles with basic activities every day. He walks with difficulty, falls frequently and must wear orthopedic orthosis. He has a distorted pelvis and a strong curvature of his spine. The right leg is shorter than the left one. He will probably have another operation in the future. This time - limb lengthening ...
I dream about Marcel being able to achieve the highest level of mobility. Surgery is required for this, but the cost scares me. I will be very grateful for any help in raising funds. These operations are our only chance for a better future. Please help us!
