Fundraiser goal: New wheelchair and walker, rehabilitation camp, and regular physical therapy
Fundraiser description
This time, our fundraising goal is to purchase a new wheelchair and walker and pay for the rehabilitation camp and physical therapy.
Due to Wiktoria's significant weight loss, her old wheelchair has become unstable and tilts on one side... Also, the walker she's been using for ten years does not provide enough support... Wiktoria requires new equipment and rehabilitation!
Read our story:
My daughter was born prematurely, at 26 weeks of gestation. She weighed less than two pounds! My motherhood started off with a fear that my baby would not survive! Would I ever hold her, be by her side, or watch her grow up?...
Her chances of survival were small, but she bravely fought for every breath. Thankfully, fate decided to save her! During my labor, however, Wiktoria suffered birth-related asphyxia resulting in spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. Today, my daughter is a person with a disability…
When she turned one month old, she was diagnosed with brain damage.
She also had health issues typical for preterm babies, like retinopathy of prematurity that lead to vision defect, breathing problems, and neurodevelopmental and psychomotor impairment. Wiktoria cannot stand or walk and uses a wheelchair and a walker to move. We struggle with the effects of cerebral palsy every day. Her upper and lower limbs require constant rehabilitation due to joint and muscle pain caused by contractures.
Wiktoria also suffers from right-sided trigeminal neuralgia, a condition that causes painful sensations on one side of the face and tension in the skull and face. It is triggered by speaking, chewing, and brushing teeth. Only specialized therapy and rehabilitation can help soothe the pain!
Although we feel exhausted after years of struggle, we are not giving up! My daughter's health and independence are at stake!
She is passionate about travel, art, and music and wants to try them all. Due to her disease, she cannot, though.
Thanks to the effort she has put into her physical therapy, she made progress, and that motivates us to continue the rehabilitation. However, the treatment is too expensive, and soon, I won't be able to afford it...
I am a single mom struggling to provide my daughter with the best life possible. The truth is, Wiktoria and I are on our own. Against all odds, we support each other to make our lives easier. Wiktoria has already undergone six surgeries, and the next step for her is rehabilitation and getting new equipment, which I cannot afford. I must ask you for support! Please help me fight for my daughter's life!
