Fundraiser description
"Mommy, I do not want to die!" Shouted Wiktoria. When her mother remembers that tragic day, her voice tightens in her throat and tears come to her eyes ... She had her hand screwed into the seeder when her shaky dad brought her into the yard. Then a helicopter, a hospital and a new reality. The reality in which Wiktoria does not have a hand ... She is very brave, although she is only 11 years old. She believes that it will still be like before the accident. With a modern prosthesis it's possible! We are mobilizing all forces to help Victoria. Join and help change her fate!
Wiktoria's mother:
I remember that day well, as if it were yesterday. September 26, 2018. Wiktoria came back from school earlier. She was with me all the time, we were still talking ... She asked where dad was, I replied that in the field. I do not even know when she left home. It took maybe 10 minutes. And it was all over ...

Wiktoria is the youngest of our five. Always full of energy, the best student, she loved sports. She was still humming to help on the farm, to the animals she loves. She often helped us, she knew what to watch out for. I do not know how it happened that she put her hand in the seed drill ...
My husband then told me that he heard only a shrill cry. Thanks God, he immediately switched off the tractor and ran to see what had happened. If he did not, we would not have a daughter anymore ... Victoria was standing behind the tractor, crying terribly. Her hand was screwed into the drill, it could not be pulled out. My husband brought her with the machine to the yard. My daughter said with tears that she did not want to die ... In this whole shock we called for an ambulance, my husband reached out her hand, but it was cut off. I put it in the ice, I secured it. I knew that they were doing such things that they sew ...
The ambulance took Wiktoria to the hospital in Bydgoszcz, but there they said that they could not help. They ordered to go to Gdansk. However, precious hours passed... We got to the hospital when Wiktoria was already in the operating room. Although five hours have passed since the accident, the professor tried to save her hand. Unfortunately, it was too late.

When Wiktoria woke up, she did not know that she does not have a hand. She felt the hand, even said her fingers were itchy. It was a phantom feeling characteristic of amputees. But the moment came when she needed to know the truth... It was a terrible despair. I remember my next two weeks, they were very hard. Although I was happy and thanked God that Wiktoria was alive, my heart was broken at the sight of her despair. However, she did not give up. Still at the hospital, she was learning to write again with her left hand - the only one which left her.
The daughter returned to school quite quickly. She was very afraid of this moment, that her friends would laugh at her... Fortunately, the kids stood up to the task, Wiktoria received incredible support at school, from students and teachers. It gave her positive energy and faith that she would manage! Wiktoria has an exceptionally positive approach to life. She's smart, we talk a lot and she knows we could lose her. This tragedy is such luck in misfortune, we focus on it.
Of course it is difficult. Wiktoria needs help in washing, eating, and some school work. There are neuralgias that tease her. However, she does manage how she can. We wanted her to have a prosthesis, so ordinary, aesthetic. However, we went to the prosthetist for the fitting of such a special prosthesis, which works like a hand - it moves, has gripping fingers. And to our amazement, Victoria dealt with it perfectly, as if she had used it for many years! The prosthetist said that it is a pity to waste such potential that Victoria can have a life like before the accident! She would want it so much...

Unfortunately, the cost of the prosthesis is gigantic. Although many people have been involved in helping Victoria, there is still a shortage of resources... The bionic prosthesis is one for a lifetime, you will not need to replace it, only every 5 years to send to the free service. Such a new hand works just like a natural one, it's connected to the muscles and nerves, so when Wiktoria thinks to grab something or move her fingers, the prosthesis reacts like a normal hand!
We will never forget this terrible accident, Wiktoria will not forget pain and fear. The most important thing is that she is alive, she is with us! The hand will never grow, but it is not the end of the world. We live in such times that fantastic devices can replace the amputated limb, give a chance for a normal life! However, the obstacle is always big money, so please help our little daughter. Wiktoria wants to regain fitness and independence, and with your support it will definitely work!
