A 20-year-old Wojtek barely survived a TRAGIC ACCIDENT ❗️

Wojtek, our beloved son, lived to reach for the sky - above all, he is a good human being, a loyal friend, the life and soul of every party, a passionate athlete, and a dedicated scholarship student. His greatest love was triathlon. Last year, he fulfilled his dream by completing the full Ironman in Thun. Mountains, volcanoes, long runs, swimming, cycling - that was his world. Always smiling, always full of life, always chasing his dreams.

Today, he needs your help to survive and rebuild his life.

On May 20th, 2026, everything changed in one second. While training for his next Ironman race in Warsaw, Wojtek crashed into a suddenly braking vehicle. He was resuscitated on the roadside and airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors fought desperately for his life. He survived - but the injuries were catastrophic. 

Wojtek suffered a complete spinal cord injury at the thoracic level (T7), cervical injury, broken nose, fractured kneecap, pulmonary contusion, and pneumothorax. At present, there is no medical treatment available for reversing the spinal injury. Yet we place our hope in medical progress, rehabilitation, and God’s help. We believe that one day our son will be able to stand again. 

The athlete who once conquered mountains now fights for every breath - still in intensive care, still undergoing surgeries, still in a medically induced coma. Our hearts are shattered, yet we refuse to give up on him.

Wojtek now faces a lifetime of rehabilitation, medical care, and the unimaginable challenge of learning how to live again - with paralysis caused by a severe spinal cord injury. His rehabilitation alone will cost around 10,000 EUR every month for the next 2–3 years - an amount far beyond anything we can afford as a family.

To bring him home one day, we must create a world in which he can regain at least a small measure of independence and dignity. We are asking for help because we cannot carry this financial burden on our own. We dream of a future where he can breathe without fear, sit without pain, communicate freely, and rebuild his life step by step. Every donation gives him one more chance - one more breath, one more step toward life.
