I'm raising him alone. Mateusz has a congenital brain defect (underdevelopment of the cerebellar worm). Active inoperable cyst. Tetraparesis, bilateral clubfoot in the course of cerebellar defects and epilepsy. Drug-resistant epilepsy. Decreased muscle tone. He lost his optic nerves in both eyes, which left him blind. Nystagmus, alternating convergent strabismus. He is under the care of many specialist clinics.

Mati does not speak - he communicates with the environment using simple single syllables, due to his poor eyesight he focuses more on auditory stimuli. Mateusz reacts very spontaneously to the voice of well-known and liked people: he shouts happily, waves his hands, laughs. He does not signal physiological needs. Requires full assistance with daily activities. In general, Mati is a cheerful boy.

Since 2013, the scoliosis of the spine has progressed. In 2015, he underwent reconstruction of the left hip, where he was immobilized for 2 months, which made the scoliosis of the spine progress much faster. In 2018, he underwent plastic surgery of the left Achilles tendon, posterior casulotomy of the upper ankle joint - femoral plaster, and in 2019 he underwent lengthening plastic surgery of the Achilles tendon.
I look after Mateusz 24/7. My son needs me all the time. Despite so many diseases and defects, I fight for Mateusz's health every day. Thanks to rehabilitation and exercise, my son has a chance to be, at least to a minimal extent, independent. I'm very afraid of what will happen when I'm gone, so now I'm doing everything I can to help him cope.
