Pomogła wielu, teraz pilnie potrzebuje pomocy

A slight pimple appeared on Ms. Zofia's face a few years ago. It did not change for a long time. The doctors kept on repeating “It appeared itself and it will disappear itself”. Unfortunately, over the course of time this inconspicuous eruption turned into the terrible tumour devouring Ms. Zofia's face alive!

She used to work in the Polish Red Cross where she looked after lots of senior citizens, she looked into their problems and worries. Today she is of advanced age herself and she urgently needs help without which her life will become a nightmare.

Ms. Zofia suffers from basal cell carcinoma of the nose skin and the left cheek skin, diagnosed in 2016. In this case surgical treatment is impossible because it involves too high risk of complications. Radiotherapy means practically certain loss of vision. The carcinoma has ruined the tissues so deep that every attempt to remove it can end tragically for Ms. Zofia. She does not want to lose vision because she wants to watch her grandsons grow up and there are still so many beautiful things to see.

The operation was cancelled at the last minute

During her stay at the Krakow Craniofacial Surgery Clinic, Ms. Zofia was disqualified from the operation. All her medical examinations and tests had already been completed and she was prepared for treatment. Literally in the last minute the doctors found that the risk was too high and the chances of success are too slight. The operation required removal of part of the orbital bone and the ethmoid bone, which could lead to an irreparable distortion of the face and to a cerebrospinal fluid leak. Why hadn't she been informed about it earlier? Zofia had been given time for illusions that maybe she would succeed and that the doctors will help. Next there was a blow followed by despair and breakdown.

There was still a small chance that all is not yet lost. Ms. Zofia was provided with professional advice by Prof. Maciejewski's team in the Gliwice Oncology Centre who also refused to operate due to too small chances of success.  Ms. Zofia gave up radiotherapy in the Czech Republic in deadly fear of losing vision. The blindness of both eyes is in this case an unavoidable consequence. “Now Mom sees well and is quite independent. We do not know what would happen if she lost vision completely. Unfortunately, each day without treatment involves a growth of the carcinoma” - Dariusz, Ms. Zofia's son says.

Expensive medicines are the last hope

All is not yet lost. Thanks to the medicine called Erivedge the wound stops burning and itching. After a long time, Ms. Zofia can go out again. There is a big chance that thanks to this cure the growth will disappear completely, and at least it will either stop or diminish. It would mean a lot because it is difficult to live with a great open wound on one's face. Unfortunately, one pack, which contains a dose only for one month, costs more than 20 000,- zlotys (PLN). “We cannot cope with it ourselves” - adds her son.

There is little time left!

"I would be most appreciative if you would help me buy the medicine which will give my Mom a chance to lead normal life without pain and suffering. Without your help I cannot gather more than a hundred thousand zlotys required to guarantee the continuity of the therapy. Please help me save my Mom's life!” – Dariusz begs.
