Cancer wants to take away our daughter! Your help for Zosia is priceless!

Zosia’s cancer has relapsed. That news made us go weak at the knees. Starting cancer treatment for the first time is one thing, but having to go through that again is a whole different story!  And when it involves your beloved child, there’s nothing worse you can experience… Please help! A relapse lowers the chance of survival! 

Zosia requires a life-saving treatment in the USA! 

When I drove my daughter to the doctor in November 2021, I didn’t expect to hear such a terrible diagnosis. The reason for the check-up was the abdominal pain she had been suffering from for several days. An ultrasound showed something odd on one of the adrenal glands….

We rushed to the emergency room, where we heard the diagnosis - a 6 cm inoperable tumor! Too large to remove… We found out it was cancer! Neuroblastoma, called a child killer, has a survival rate of just 50%! 

The treatment was implemented immediately. Zosia didn’t come home that night…

She started chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, and another chemo. Even though my daughter was so little, she was so brave…

Finally, we could return home and continue the chemotherapy (pill-based) and follow-up examinations. The result of one of them, performed in November 2022, exactly one year after the diagnosis, made our world fall apart again…

Cancer recurred in the original tumor bed! CANCER RELAPSE - it gives the chills to everyone who once struggled with cancer. And we haven’t even won that battle yet! 

We felt the tears rolling down our cheeks, a shock, and despair… We had to tell Zosia that she had to start her fight all over again, though… 

Unfortunately, it’s much more complicated now. I had to go back to the hospital and start to live with my daughter in the oncology ward. My husband and two older sons are at home, and we miss each other so much… When someone is sick, the rest of the family suffers, too… The disease has an impact on everyone, although it’s different for each individual… 

Recently it turned out that cancer is metastatic! It has spread to the bones and probably bone marrow, which is to be confirmed by a more thorough examination. 

The doctors took Zosia to the operating room for surgery. She returned to the ward without both the tumor and the kidney…

Zosia is in a high-risk group and will undergo an intense, complex treatment involving many stages. It means a month-long battle and fear that takes control over the whole body. There are exhausting chemo cycles, bone marrow transplants, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and side effects ahead of us. 

Innovative treatment in the United States and a vaccine to prevent another recurrence are the hope for Zosia. An estimated cost is 3,000,000 zlotys. It is a price to pay for our daughter’s life…

Please help us. Vaccine against neuroblastoma relapse is the only chance to save Zosia! If cancer returns, it will take my daughter away…
