Campaign description

HELP US HELP!

On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, starting a cruel war that

forced millions of people to leave their own homes. Ukrainian children have been made to lose their innocence and sense safety. From the day of the invasion, nothing is the same as it was.

Though continuing to live in safety in Poland, we could not watch these tragic events as passive observers. From the first day of the war, we put our efforts and resources to help those who had become refugees in their own country and those who were fighting heroically for the independence of Ukraine and the independence of all other countries.

With a care package of collected items, we went to Ukraine on the 4th day of the war. Our support has continued to this day, with our deliveries reaching areas such as Kharkiv, Kiev, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Vineyards, and Kirovograd. We help many people get out and provide support to hundreds.

We had our own lives, families, careers, and goals, but after what we saw in Ukraine we have one dream: that this war will end sooner than it began and that the Ukrainian people will be able to rebuild their country with prosperity.

Pursuing this deeply entrenched goal, what we have done so far has cost our organisation enormous sums. The vast majority has willingly been paid out of pocket by Be A Hero and its administrators, however, now, after more than 150 days of war in Ukraine, we have to turn back to you to ask for financial support. Even if it could seem that the war in Ukraine is becoming normalised and does not arouse the same outpouring of emotion and solidarity that it did in March the beginning, we still do not plan stop and will continue to help people who are not so lucky to in the morning to wake up in a free country where people are not afraid of whether they will survive the night. Everyday we receive requests asking for shipments of food, clothing, generators, medicine and much more. Without you and your donation, we could continue to provide this help!!

There are three basic areas of assistance we focus on:

➡️Drugs and medical equipment for frontline fighters and injured civilians!

Items such as individual first aid kits are worth their weight in gold (NATO IFAK standard), Israeli bandages, CAT (Combat-Application - pressure tourniquet), anti-burn dressings, anti-burn gels burns, antiseptics, painkillers, antipyretics, dressings, saline, aspirin, compressants, and disinfectants.

The purchased drugs and equipment, after being sorted appropriately, will be delivered by our committed drivers to the appropriate distribution points, this being determined according to the needs of hospitals, the army and among civilians at the time.

➡️ Help for women and victims of rape.
In Ukraine, many women are victims of wartime sexual assault and rape. Hospitals turn to us for help, they need equipment for improvised gynecological departments. Currently, we are in desperate need for funds to purchase a medical chair, sterilization cabinet, stand for tools, floor lamps (2 pcs.), colposcope, hystero resectoscope, trocar, thermostats, gynecological kits (2 pcs.), surgical instruments, and hysteroscopy. To this end, we have already managed to buy an ultrasound scanner and gynecological chairs. Every time we delivery these items, we verify that these necessities make it their final destination, confirming it with our contacts in the army, medical service, and even the priesthood so that nothing is stolen

➡️Basic goods needed for life.

Ukraine lacks everything: clothes for children and babies, food, hygienic materials, and more. They don't have access to the daily necessities which we take for granted. It just is for us. Things are certain. It is our goal to bring some stability back into these people’s lives, first by meeting their basic needs. The products we purchased are sorted to be split by their destination and use and are then delivered by our committed drivers to distribution centres throughout Ukraine. Doing our part so that parents and children have their needs met and live beyond a horrible subsistence state, where every moment is a fight for finding the bare minimum.

Please support and become a hero for Ukraine!
