Fundraiser description
For several years, I have been suffering from a very disabling disease. This is deeply infiltrative endometriosis. It was only in October last year, after the first laparoscopic surgery, that the disease was correctly identified. Thanks to this, I have learned how to fight it. Unfortunately, the Polish National Health Fund does not cover the treatment of this disease by one hundred per cent. Therefore, I want to tell you my story and ask for help.
Endometriosis is a disease that affects the reproductive organs of women and all around them. It is also a cause of female infertility. My husband has recently described it in a very vivid way. Namely, it is like having a spider in your belly that builds a web for every organ and binds them together. Outside, there are no signs of disease-related damage and problems. However, every day, I am accompanied by unbearable pain.
Care and pharmaceuticals in the fourth stage of endometriosis support me no longer. I spent the whole of 2020 searching for a doctor or clinic across Poland that could heal me and give me hope for a better tomorrow. After travelling a lot of miles and seeing several physicians, I eventually found the right specialist at the Medicus Clinic in Wrocław.
In the clinic, within the first thirty seconds of the medical examination, the doctor found a giant tumour attached to the uterus, the vagina and the large intestine. In addition, my ovaries are affected by the outbreak on both sides.
After the medical tests, the doctor gave me to understand how difficult this surgery is and what the potential risks are. The surgery is as difficult to perform as the climb of Mount Everest. Therefore, a multidisciplinary surgical team is required to perform the operation. Nevertheless, in Poland, the treatment can only be conducted in a private clinic and the cost is PLN 80,000. Hence, I turn to people of goodwill, help me collect this number, get rid of this cruel disease, and become a mother in the future.
