Jaś – nasz ukochany synek – urodził się 20 stycznia 2024 roku. Tak bardzo chciał być z nami, że przyszedł na świat dużo wcześniej, niż powinien – już w 28. tygodniu ciąży.

Od swoich pierwszych chwil na świecie dzielny Jaś musiał walczyć o życie. Urodził się z atrezją przełyku, dlatego swoje pierwsze miesiące spędził w szpitalach i na salach operacyjnych.

Jaś pozostaje pod stałą opieką lekarzy wielu specjalizacji. Mierzy się m.in. z padaczką, ma poważne problemy ze wzrokiem, a w przyszłości czekają go kolejne operacje poszerzania przełyku. Przeszedł także martwicę jelit – konieczne było wyłonienie stomii, a w maju 2025 roku wykonano zespolenie jelita.

Choć droga Jasia jest niezwykle trudna, są też bardzo ważne postępy. W kwestii wzroku – widzimy poprawę, jednak wciąż nie wiadomo, ile dokładnie Jaś widzi. Nie patrzy nam jeszcze w twarze, najprawdopodobniej dalej niż metr dostrzega jednak światło. Lekarze dają nadzieję, że może być lepiej, ale wymaga to wielu godzin intensywnej pracy i terapii.

Cieszą nas także postępy w rozwoju ruchowym. Najpierw Jaś sam usiadł, a dziś raczkuje – każdy taki krok to dla nas ogromna wygrana i dowód na jego niesamowitą siłę.

Niestety, wciąż mierzymy się z wieloma wyzwaniami. Jaś jest intensywnie rehabilitowany – każdego dnia. Korzystamy z wszystkich możliwych metod, a nad jego rozwojem czuwa kilku rehabilitantów. Do tego dochodzą przewlekłe problemy żywieniowe i bardzo mały przyrost masy ciała.

Poza trudnościami „mechanicznymi”, takimi jak poszerzanie przełyku, Jaś ma również duże potrzeby logopedyczne. Nadal nie je łyżeczką, nie radzi sobie z cząstkami pokarmów. Zaczynamy także korzystać z komunikacji alternatywnej i bardzo wierzymy, że mowa jeszcze się rozwinie.

Jaś każdego dnia ma zajęcia, które pomagają mu iść naprzód. Każdy dzień to praca, ćwiczenia, wizyty, terapia – wszystko po to, by dać mu szansę na jak najlepsze życie. Chcemy osiągnąć więcej, bo kochamy naszego syna nad życia i zrobimy dla niego wszystko. Jednak nic nie dzieje się samo. Przed nami wciąż ogrom pracy, kolejne etapy leczenia i rehabilitacji.

Będziemy wdzięczni za każde wsparcie, to dla Jasia realna szansa na lepszą przyszłość. Dziękujemy z całego serca za każdą formę pomocy – za obecność, dobre słowo i nadzieję, którą nam dajecie.

Help our brave warrior Jaś fight for a better tomorrow!

Jaś, our beloved son, was born on January 20, 2024. He was so looking forward to meeting us that he came to this world earlier - in the 28th week of gestation!

Jaś had to fight for his life from the moment he took his first breath. He was born with esophageal atresia and spent the first months of his life in hospitals and operating rooms. 

Jaś remains under the constant care of doctors from many different specialties. He struggles, among other things, with epilepsy, has serious vision problems, and more esophageal dilation surgeries await him in the future. He also suffered from intestinal necrosis — a stoma had to be created, and in May 2025 an intestinal anastomosis was performed.

Although Jaś’s journey is extremely difficult, there have also been very important signs of progress. When it comes to his eyesight, we can see improvement, but it is still unclear exactly how much Jaś can see. He does not yet look at our faces; most likely, beyond a distance of about one meter, he can perceive light. Doctors give us hope that this may improve, but it requires many hours of intensive work and therapy.

We are also encouraged by progress in his motor development. First, Jaś learned to sit on his own, and today he is crawling — every such step is a huge victory for us and proof of his incredible strength.

Unfortunately, we are still facing many challenges. Jaś undergoes intensive rehabilitation — every single day. We use every possible method, and several therapists are closely monitoring his development. On top of that, there are chronic feeding difficulties and very poor weight gain.

Beyond the “mechanical” difficulties, such as esophageal dilations, Jaś also has significant speech therapy needs. He still does not eat with a spoon and struggles with food textures. We are also beginning to use alternative communication methods, and we strongly believe that speech may still develop.

Every day, Jaś participates in activities that help him move forward. Each day is filled with work, exercises, appointments, and therapy — all to give him a chance at the best possible life. We want to achieve more because we love our son more than life itself and will do everything for him. But nothing happens on its own. There is still an enormous amount of work ahead of us, along with further stages of treatment and rehabilitation.

We will be grateful for every form of support — for Jaś, it is a real chance for a better future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every kind of help, for your presence, your kind words, and the hope you give us.
