Dear friends,

I would like you to ask about help:

There is this little Boy - Kajtek, with skin as fragile as butterfly wings... and he needs our help !!! He is from my hometown in Poland (Srem- near Poznan) and me and his mum we used to spend our childhood together on the same estate.. playing together on the playground, riding bikes, hanging around with friends and basically all things that kids do ! Without the pain...

Kajtek suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa ( Butterfly skin), his body is covered with deep blistering wounds that will never heal. Playing is difficult, bathing is excruciating.

'Epidermolysis bullosa is a group of rare diseases that cause the skin to blister. The blisters may appear in response to minor injury, heat, or friction from rubbing, scratching or adhesive tape. In severe cases, the blisters may occur inside the body, such as the lining of the mouth or intestines.'

Epidermolysis bullosa has no cure, though mild forms may improve with age. Treatment focuses on addressing the symptoms — such as infection and itching — and preventing pain and wounds. However there is a hope for Kajetan- he can live without the pain, he needs 1.023.000£ - this is the cost of life without the pain...

'Stem cell transplantation in the clinic in Minnesota could change his life. There are children who have passed through the same nightmare, and now their skin is simply problematic - has the characteristics of atopic skin. It does not behave like sunburned. Does not leave the body panels. Wounds heal, and not only those on the outside, but the inside of the body as well. There is a chance that Kajtek will be raised by mother, not pain.'

This is a huge amount of money but we all can do this together ! Every single penny counts - let's give him a childhood without the pain!
