Cancer is always a drama - there are no words to describe the oncological nightmare, the magnitude of fear and suffering ... When cancer wants to take young life, it’s even harder to find them. Monika fell ill at the threshold of adulthood. She was only 29 years old when she contracted breast cancer. Those 10 years, which should be the greatest years of life, turned into a serious battle for life. Monika always tried to make the disease affect her as little as possible. Although it was not easy, she wanted to live a normal life, work, develop, realize her plans and dreams. Her strength has become our inspiration!

Monika’s fight for life can be truly described as an act of heroism ... She underwent mastectomy - her breast was removed, she learned what the nightmare of chemo- and radiotherapy is. Despite all that, she was strong and with a true force of a hurricane she went through a long, aggravating treatment ... It seemed that she had won, that the cancer had let go and will be just a bad dream and an unhappy memory ... Five peaceful, happy years passed. And then, one day, the nightmare came back ...

One day, while walking, Monika suddenly lost consciousness. A 2-centimeter tumor was found in her head after a series of tests. The tumor has attacked again ...

Another surgery was needed, this time on the brain ... The doctors cut out the tumor. Monika underwent another chemio- and radiotherapy. In addition to oncological treatment, rehabilitation has permanently entered her life. Unfortunately, the surgery resulted in permanent paresis of the right leg ...

For a long time the situation seemed to be under control and stable ... Unfortunately, it was the calm before the storm. The cancer has returned ... Another metastasis has appeared in the brain.

This time it can't be cut ... The radiotherapy applied in February has not brought any effect. The tumor is growing, serious neurological problems are increasing, and seizures have appeared. Unfortunately, Monika stopped moving on her own ... She is too weak to work - she was a legal advisor, very involved in her work ... She is at home, under the care of her family. She fades away…

Monika can no longer undergo any chemotherapy approved and reimbursed by the National Health Fund ... She cannot take another dose of radiotherapy either. The radiation intensity she has received in recent years threatens that the next dose would end up in radiation sickness.

However, the doctors still do not give up - there is hope for Monika! The last chance is in a form of a very expensive drug that needs to be administered for at least a year. Monika has already taken the first dose, the next one is awaiting her in July ... Unfortunately, the price of treatment is overwhelming - over PLN 25,000 for one dose, which Monika must take every 3 weeks! That's how much life costs ... We were able to collect a sum that enabled the start of the treatment, but unfortunately the cost of subsequent doses exceeds our capabilities.

Monika wants to live so much ... She still has so much to do. She still has the will to live, the will to fight and hope ... All that is lacking is money. Please - don't let her leave because of such inhumane reason ... We believe that with you, friends and strangers, all is not yet lost.
