URGENT❗️ "My life is over!" A dramatic fight against time for Olek's life!

This is Olek Biliński. He has just turned 11 and for last 7 years has been fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Olek is extremely smart and cheerful boy, who has always tried to enjoy his childhood against all odds. He has been bearing all the suffering, unlimited painful medical procedures, years of being trapped in cancer clinic without one tear or a single complaint.

He has been given numerous doses of chemotherapy, undergone two bone marrow transplantations, tried monoclonal antibody and all these methods have helped only for a short period of time. He has relapsed three times. Each time is worse than the previous one. His body is so exhausted by highly toxic medications that the latest two chemo sessions ended up in ICU where doctors advised his mum to say goodbye to her child. However, neither Olek nor his mum ever give up. He escaped death yet another time. The problem is that cancer cells are still in his body and it is a matter of time when leukemia attacks again.

A single extra drop of chemo would kill him and it no longer works anyways. The only hope, last hope, for Olek is CAR-T cell therapy. It is a type of blood cancer treatment that programs a patient’s own altered white blood cells to detect and destroy cancer cells. Olek’s cells have already been collected, frozen and waiting for dispatch but the procedure in a specialized laboratory in USA costs almost 1.5 million zlotys – price for Olek’s life…
