Fundraiser description
Every mother will do anything to stop the suffering of her beloved child. Unfortunately, I faced the worst challenge a mother can experience - fear for her son's life. How do I cope with that? I have no idea. All I know is that I must stay strong for my beloved Sylwester.
My son used to be an active and happy man, a father of two wonderful twin girls - Amelia and Nikola. He loved swimming and riding a bike.
Unfortunately, his organized life fell apart within seconds... On June 27, 2022, he had a construction accident while working abroad.
A roof collapsed under his feet, causing him to fall. As a result, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. Due to enormous brain swelling, the doctors decided to perform a decompression craniectomy to prevent dangerous intracranial pressure growth.
I couldn't wait any longer. I had to fly to London to see my injured son, who was all alone in a foreign country. I visited him twice and stayed for two weeks to support him. It worked - the doctors noticed an improvement! It looks like he really needed me…
He was in critical condition, and I was scared of losing him. I wish I had assured him about his recovery so that he reunited with his beloved daughters, who miss him so much!
Thanks to the video connection established by the London hospital, I can see my son. I cannot afford to constantly travel to London, since the accommodation there is expensive. Until now, I paid for the flight tickets and a hotel from my pocket. Unfortunately, I've run out of funds.
My son requires palliative care - the doctors abroad decided to stop the treatment. I wish I could bring Sylwek back to Poland, where he could undergo rehabilitation and eventually recover. Sadly, the costs of therapy and medical transport are unbelievably high. Due to his condition, he requires supervision during the trip.
We have no time to lose, so I am asking you for donations. Every penny will give me hope that one day I will be able to hold my son's hand and tell him that everything will be all right.
