URGENT ❗️We are fighting for our son’s life❗️Please, save Dominik!

We used to be a happy family... We already had a daughter when Dominik was born, we felt that we had everything... We did not expect such a tragedy...

Dominik was 4 months old when he was admitted to hospital due to pneumonia. His liver enzymes were elevated. After almost 2 months, our son was ill again and the doctors found his test results concerning. We were referred to Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka (The Children's Memorial Health Institute). 

I was under no illusion… I am a nurse, I knew what these results suggested… We were admitted to hospital where more tests were conducted and then, the neurologist told us that this was probably Duchenne muscular dystrophy. 

Genetic tests confirmed this diagnosis. We expected it but one always has the last shred of hope... We were not lucky... Our son suffers from a terminal disease.

DMD takes muscles one by one. Weakens the legs, hands... 10-year old boys usually have to use a wheelchair. Then, they are put on a ventilator and wait for a slow and painful death…

We cannot accept that. We cannot allow for this to happen to our son. Unfortunately, the only hope is beyond our reach… and that is why we have no choice but to beg for your help.
