Fundraiser description
On the day 30th July 2013 when Cyprian was born the weather wasn't good at all. There was terrible thunder-storm and Cyprian's mum counted the following "cramps" between the strokes of lightning, while driving to hospital. Finally, at night the baby was delivered. A big boy 4875g of weight and 65cm of hight - 10 points of Apgar!
Happy parents brought their loving son home. At the begining everything seemed to be ok, unfortunately the happiness did not last long. After 3 weeks or so the baby started to behave rather strangely. He woke up at night or during the day stiffend and bended his body, sometimes he choked or hold his breath with his eyes opened wide.

First they thought it might be the belly problem but the attacks kept repeating so they made the video film and showed to the pediatrist. When he saw the film he told us that such behavior is probably caused by neurological disfanction of Cyprian's brain and suggested to consult it with the neurologist. The diagnose was terryfing - "West's syndrome - epilepsy. Cyprian's parents were shocked and their hearts were broken. Why that did happened to their beautiful boy? they questioned themselves. Cyprian was prescribed certain anstringent atacks medicine and the results were good, the attacks abated.
When Cyprian was one and half year old his elder sister brought smallpox home. She conveyed her disease to all siblings, Cyprian was the last. And then, the horror started again. The attacks appeared one after another more and more frequently. The medicine didn't hel so the boy was examinated in differend hospitals again. The overhauls showed that Cyprian is afflicted with symptomatic epilepsy- heterotophy of the right sphere of brain.
That knews broke Cyprian's mum heart again. Although she learned how to recognize the coming attacks, she is almost helpless when the attacks become too strong and the medicine is inneffective. The big ones are very dangerous; Cyprian's eyelids start blinking fast, his body stiffens, he stops breaving and his mouth turns grey. They last two or thre minutes, the thouder storm ends and the boy falls asleep but that happens not always. Often the boy has problem with sleeping and his parents have to be on the alert all night. All that situation makes all the family very unhappy and exhausted but they don't give up, they fight for Cyprian's life as much as they can.

Today the pharmacological treatment dosen't help. The doctors tried different medicine but after a period of time Cyprian's organizm became immunized against all those medicine. This way of pharmacological treatment seems to be inefficient and endless. Consilium of doctors decided that the only way to keep Cyprian alive is an operation.
They said that the operation is very important, the neurological defect is extensive, including the sight centre. Therefore the initial diagnose must be done by the special technicological equipment, unfortunately not accessible in Poland. Cyprian needs to be diagnosed as quick as possible. He can't wait too long, because when the attacks wide-spread on another hemosphere Cyprian loses a great chance to be operated and a chance to stay alive.
Unfortunately, the operation which may Cyprian help is very expensive. He's got to be diagnosed first and the appointed time is on 29th May.
Cyprian's parents did everything .They spend all their money on their loving boy' s treatment which affected not only their hosehold budget but also their physical and mental condition. Having four kids their income budget dissapear very fast. Now they can't afford such expensive operation. They say "We want fight " for our son's life but we don,t have enough money to do it. Terefore we beg all people for financial aid. We need your support to stop peals of thounder in Cyprian's head.
Greatfully thankful parents : Martyna and Aron Gawel
