Brain tumor recurrence - craniopharyngioma

Mikołaj is 16 years old. He is a cheerful teenager, a fan of computer games and movies. He loves to work with his dad. He usually spends his free time with friends. He has just finished his first year of study at a technical college. In 2017, Mikołaj was diagnosed with a brain tumor - craniopharyngioma, which was located in the area of ​​the pituitary gland.

When his parents heard the diagnosis, everything happened very quickly. He was operated on at the Children's Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw. Since then, Mikołaj has been under the care of neurosurgeons, endocrinologists and ophthalmologists. He must take certain medications on a regular basis. On June 24, 2021, another MRI was performed for Mikołaj, the result of which surprised even doctors. The remnant of the tumor - which had been stable for more than 3.5 years - grew, getting dangerously close to the optic nerve, and we contacted the professor at the clinic in Tübingen for a consultation. Mikołaj was urgently qualified for an operation allowing for the complete removal of the tumor. The cost of the operation was estimated at PLN 161,000. zlotys. Collecting such an amount in a short time, unfortunately, exceeds his parents possibilities.
