As TSG Poland employees we are the daily witnesses of Ukrainian refugees’ distress, mainly women and children who crossed the border to escape the war without quite anything to leave with.
Of course, in face of this situation, it appears to us impossible to not provide any help as individuals. It is the reason why, in the spirit of love and compassion for people deprived of home, we as TSG employees got the idea to join our forces to start collecting funds for the most needy people who are also hosted in our home, the most innocent victims of the conflict who are children from orphanages who were evacuated thanks to the Happy Kids Foundation.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the CEE countries have already hosting 3 million refugees from Ukraine. The Happy Kids Foundation was one of the first organizations to start evacuating children from orphanages and foster care in Ukraine. So far, thanks to her help, nearly 1,500 children have been safely transported to Poland.
Now, the Foundation faces the challenge of providing the necessary support to local and provincial authorities and directly to children and their guardians, in order to ensure appropriate conditions for new charges. It is not only about accommodation, food and clothes, but also medicines, help and care of specialists (some of the children are disabled).  Most of the Ukrainian children from orphanages and foster care will stay in Poland for longer, which means long-term help.
The Foundation is ready to support the central, provincial and local authorities of Poland, Ukraine and partner organizations in the ongoing monitoring of the situation of children in new places by maintaining relations with the organizers of institutions and supporting their activities in minimizing the effects of trauma experienced by children, providing the necessary psychological, medical and legal assistance.
