On June 12, 2024, our long-awaited son, Michałek, was born. The entire pregnancy proceeded flawlessly. The detailed examination was focused on the health of our child. We never expected something so horrible to happen...

Unfortunately, right after birth, it was discovered that one of our son's ears did not develop, and the ear canal is completely closed, which means he cannot hear through that ear. The ultrasound showed nothing... We thought it was nothing serious. We would have the surgery, open the canal quickly, and our son would hear and develop normally. Unfortunately, it turned out to be much more complicated than we expected. No one in Poland is willing to perform the surgery to open the canal. We started looking for help in various groups and forums. It turned out that the surgery is possible, but unfortunately ONLY in the United States, which comes with enormous costs. Unfortunately, we are not able to raise such a huge amount of money on our own...

We want our son to be able to hear normally. However, we are afraid that in the future, he may have problems locating the source of sound or have speech problems. Currently, we are supporting his development with a bone conduction hearing device, but the sound will never be the same as with an open ear canal.

We believe that the day will come when all of this will be in the past, and our Michałek will hear the birds singing, the sound of the sea, and our words: "We love you!"
